Hi Friends,
I had a fun time on the Suki & Scott Live Show ! It’s the new Facebook live talk show starring Suki ( Sukanya Krishnan ) and Scott ( Scott Stanford ) . The two Emmy Award winning hosts / news anchors do a great job hosting their new web based talk show ! I was their guest and on May 14th 2020 at at 7:10 pm. My segment lasted for thirty minutes. (You can scroll to 10 minutes in to start my segment.)
I talked about being a single Italian American man, who was always a little OCD and germaphobic. I had these characteristics before the COVID-19 quarantine / lockdown, They intensified during it. I told Suki and Scott how shopping was tedious and maniacal. The amazon shoppers whizz by like it was the “Amazing Race”! This was compounded by my mother calling my I phone while I was food shopping. She gave me specific instructions on what kind of chopped meat she wanted, and to be sure it wasn’t oxidized or ” brown in the middle”. This of course annoyed the butchers and one started chopping extra hard with his cleaver! Meanwhile the line of customers is building up and my uncles are calling in on the other line requesting Pignoli nuts!
I did many different impressions as I spoke with Suki and Scott. I did my Nicholas Cage impression. I improved about the upcoming “Tiger King” show on Netflix. Eventually, I went into my impressions of actors Damien Lewis ( Bobby Axlerod) and Paul Giamatti (Chuck Rhodes) on the hit show “Billions” . What an awesome tv show! Suki exclaimed how she and Scott were huge “Billions” fans!
I mentioned that I’m touring with the Sopranos in “Comedy and Conversations” starring Steve Schirripa, Michael Imperioli, and Vincent Pastore. Suki & Scott asked me if I do any of my impressions for the customer service agents. This caused me to launch into my impressions of HBO’s “Sopranos” characters, Tony Soprano, Paulie Walnuts and Sylvio Dante. I did an improvised rant about the long wait times that many companies had during the Covid-19 quarantine.
During the course of the interview, I did many different comedy bits. I did my bit on becoming more financially fit during the Covid-19 pandemic. I discontinued my gym membership, skipped haircuts, and tried to cutting down my cable tv package. When I dropped some channels and a cable box from my plan, the cable company gave me a free trial of Showtime. I saw Hustler’s with J-Lo and a bevy of beauties. I then said, ” Oh…ok I’ll keep Showtime and pay the extra money!” I also, spoke about how much I enjoyed the Martin Scorsese movie “The Irishman” and did my Al Pacino as Jimmy Hoffa, and Robert DiNero as Frank Sheeran impressions. I showed the difference between the Al Pacino voice and character from “City Hall” and the mid-western Jimmy Hoffa character he did. He’s definitely one of my favorite actors to do an impression of. The other way of cutting my budget during the quarantine was negotiating with my lawn service as Chazz Palminteri. Chazz is a mentor to me as an actor and a person. I love his work as an actor, director, writer and producer. I’m a big fan of “A Bronx Tale”. My thanks to Suki & Scott (Scott Stanford and Sukanya Krishnan) of the Suki & Scott Live Show for having me on !
